Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan van der Straet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work The Adoration Of The Shepherds sold for USD 34,375.00 (€ 26,334.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Straet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan van der Straet erzielte im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit The Adoration Of The Shepherds für USD 34.375,00 (€ 26.334,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Straet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25).
