Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Portrait Of The Horse, Corsus by Jan van der Straet. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,025.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Straet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of The Horse, Corsus von Jan van der Straet zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.025,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Straet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25).
