Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Allegory of Temperance, Justice and Liberality by Jan van der Straet was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2009. The price achieved of USD 60,000.00 (€ 46,860.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van der Straet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Allegory of Temperance, Justice and Liberality von Jan van der Straet kam im Januar 2009 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 46.860,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van der Straet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25).
