Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan van de Velde II could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A Night Scene With Figures Round A Fire changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,107.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van de Velde II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Village On A Broad River With Two Horseman At A Gateway To The Left; And An Abbey By A River With A Group of Monks On A Track in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 355,200.00 (€ 515,214.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan van de Velde II konnte im Januar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden.
