Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A windmill in a wooded landscape by Jan van Couver was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 565.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van Couver have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch village on a canal in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,184.61).
