Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two prints by the artist by Jan Schoonhoven was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,800.00 – 4,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,597.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Schoonhoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weisses Strukturrelief R 62-1 in February 2010 with an auction result of GBP 780,450.00 (€ 870,664.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two prints by the artist von Jan Schoonhoven im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.800,00 – 4.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.597,83) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Schoonhoven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weisses Strukturrelief R 62-1 im Februar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 780.450,00 (€ 870.664,54).
