Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Jan Müller was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,088.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Müller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Virgins in November 2002 with an auction result of USD 53,775.00 (€ 54,143.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jan Müller im April 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.088,40) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Müller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Virgins im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.775,00 (€ 54.143,17).
