Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2014 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Surrealist Landscape (An Abstraction) by Jan Matulka. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,161.29). Admittedly, works by Jan Matulka have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Surrealist Landscape (An Abstraction) von Jan Matulka zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.161,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Matulka auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 164.840,56).
