Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Matulka could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Czech Avant-Garde Art from the Roy and Mary Cullen Collection auction, the work Czech Lilies (Lilie) changed hands for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,100.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Matulka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
