Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At Sea by Jan Matulka was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,276.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Matulka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
