Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Axial Figure #154 by Jan Lebenstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,666.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Lebenstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figure Xviii, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 87,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Axial Figure #154 von Jan Lebenstein kam im April 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.666,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Lebenstein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figure Xviii beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 87.500,00 versteigert wurde.
