It achieved a price of NLG 1,989.34 (€ 874.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Jun. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the waterside, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 1,912.00.

Die Arbeit A view of the Prins Hendrikkade with the Scheierstoren and the Sint Nicolaas church, Amsterdam von Jan Knikker Jun. wurde im Juli 2000 in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 1.989,34 (€ 874,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Jun. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit By the waterside beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für EUR 1.912,00 versteigert wurde.
