Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Washing Day by Jan Knikker Jun. was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 418.25 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Knikker Jun. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the waterside in June 2002 with an auction result of EUR 1,912.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Washing Day von Jan Knikker Jun. kam im September 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 418,25 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Jun. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By the waterside im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.912,00.
