A top price for Jan Fyt
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction Important Old Master Paintings from The Eric Albada Jelgersma Collection: Evening sale, which included the work Studies of the head of a wild boar by Jan Fyt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 236,750.00 (€ 263,760.50), 32% above the upper estimate. With this result, Studies of the head of a wild boar is even the most expensive work of art by Jan Fyt that we have observed at auctions so far.
