The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 196,177.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jan Fyt have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2018 the work Studies of the head of a wild boar was auctioned for GBP 236,750.00 (€ 263,760.50).
