Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sea by Jan Dibbets was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 875.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Dibbets achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shutterspeed Piece - Konrad Fisher's Gallery I in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 68,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sea von Jan Dibbets kam im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 875,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Dibbets erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shutterspeed Piece - Konrad Fisher's Gallery I im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.750,00.
