Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Baptiste de Jonghe could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Noble and Private Collections auction, the work A landscape with a shepherd and his flock on a country-road near a farmhouse changed hands for EUR 1,625.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Baptiste de Jonghe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View In Windsor Great Park With Deer Watering In The Foreground, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,501.41).
