Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session, which included the work Excursion Boats, Monhegan by Jamie Wyeth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 450,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 277,200.00 (€ 245,592.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jamie Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Excursion Boats, Monhegan von Jamie Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 245.592,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87).
