Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art, which included the work Cottonwoods in Fall by James Swinnerton. The price achieved of USD 5,325.00 (€ 4,461.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Swinnerton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kiva in the desert, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottonwoods in Fall von James Swinnerton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.325,00 (€ 4.461,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Swinnerton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kiva in the desert beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.310,24) versteigert wurde.
