The work The Duke Of Kingston’S Liver Chestnut Racehorse 'Jolly Roger' Led By A Groom by James Seymour was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 200,000.00 (€ 236,376.59). Other works by James Seymour have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 322,494.52) in July 2021 for the work Lord Portmore's 'Snap', a saddled chestnut hunter held by a groom, with a setter in a landscape.
