Description
JAMES SEYMOUR (LONDON C.1702-1752) Sedbury, with jockey up, and a greyhound in an extensive wooded landscape, with two country houses beyond oil on canvas 21 x 24 7 ⁄ 8 in. (53.4 x 63.3 cm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sedbury, with jockey up, and a greyhound in an extensive wooded landscape, with two country houses beyond by James Seymour was sold in the Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online auction at Christies in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 21,065.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Seymour achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Portmore's 'Snap', a saddled chestnut hunter held by a groom, with a setter in a landscape in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 322,494.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sedbury, with jockey up, and a greyhound in an extensive wooded landscape, with two country houses beyond von James Seymour wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online bei Christies in London versteigert.
