Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Grey Racehorse With A Jockey Up Exercising On Newmarket Heath by James Seymour. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,941.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Seymour achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Portmore's 'Snap', a saddled chestnut hunter held by a groom, with a setter in a landscape in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 322,494.52).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Grey Racehorse With A Jockey Up Exercising On Newmarket Heath von James Seymour zur Versteigerung kam.
