Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An officer, facing right in red coat with gold-bordered green facings, gold-bordered green waistcoat and black stock, powdered wig en queue by James Scouler was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2002. The price achieved of GBP 573.60 (€ 880.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Scouler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work William Powell (1735/1736-1769), In Fur-Lined Blue Gown, White Shirt With Lace Collar And Cuffs, Seated On A Chair With His Left Arm Resting On The Chair Back, Holding In His Right Hand A Playbill For A Double Bill Of Cymbeline And George Colman The Elder in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit William Powell (1735/1736-1769), In Fur-Lined Blue Gown, White Shirt With Lace Collar And Cuffs, Seated On A Chair With His Left Arm Resting On The Chair Back, Holding In His Right Hand A Playbill For A Double Bill Of Cymbeline And George Colman The Elder im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.529,45).
