In July 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work I Like The Wind by James Nares. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,539.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Other works by James Nares have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2014 the work Take 118 - Blue Black was auctioned for USD 87,500.00 (€ 65,347.27).
