This artwork by James MacMaster achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2005. In the The Scottish Sale auction, the work Ayr Harbour sold for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,048.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James MacMaster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ayr Harbour, which sold at auction in March 2004 for GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,398.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James MacMaster erzielte im März 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Scottish Sale wurde die Arbeit Ayr Harbour für GBP 720,00 (€ 1.048,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James MacMaster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ayr Harbour beobachtet, die im März 2004 für GBP 2.270,50 (€ 3.398,73) versteigert wurde.
