This artwork by James MacMaster achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2004. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work Unloading at the quayside sold for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,535.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James MacMaster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ayr Harbour, which sold at auction in March 2004 for GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,398.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James MacMaster erzielte im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original wurde die Arbeit Unloading at the quayside für GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.535,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James MacMaster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ayr Harbour beobachtet, die im März 2004 für GBP 2.270,50 (€ 3.398,73) versteigert wurde.
