Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A gentleman in brown coat and pleated white cravat with stickpin by James Leakey was sold in the Silver and Plate, Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Icons auction at Christies in London in April 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 400.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 420.00 (€ 606.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Leakey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lieutenant-Colonel W. George Collier, facing right in scarlet coat of the Coldstream Guards, with gold bordered blue collar and facings, gold epaulettes, white cross sash with gilt-metal oval plate, white shirt and black stock, curling light brown ha in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,869.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A gentleman in brown coat and pleated white cravat with stickpin von James Leakey wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Silver and Plate, Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Icons bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lieutenant-Colonel W. George Collier, facing right in scarlet coat of the Coldstream Guards, with gold bordered blue collar and facings, gold epaulettes, white cross sash with gilt-metal oval plate, white shirt and black stock, curling light brown ha im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 6.869,12).
