Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work The Homecoming of Agamemnon, 2001 by James Gleeson. The price achieved of AUD 30,750.00 (€ 18,645.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Gleeson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Dream Of Icarus in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 174,000.00 (€ 105,274.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Homecoming of Agamemnon, 2001 von James Gleeson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 30.750,00 (€ 18.645,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Gleeson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian The Dream Of Icarus im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 174.000,00 (€ 105.274,02).
