Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Images of Spring, 1940 by James Gleeson was sold in the Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary auction at Bonhams in Melbourne in September 2020. The price achieved of AUD 1,830.00 (€ 1,561.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gleeson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Dream Of Icarus in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 174,000.00 (€ 105,274.02).

Die Arbeit Images of Spring, 1940 von James Gleeson wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary bei Bonhams in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.830,00 (€ 1.561,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden.
