Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Gleeson could be acquired at Bonhams in Sydney in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Primavera Emerging from the Rock, 1966 changed hands for AUD 12,300.00 (€ 7,339.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gleeson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Dream Of Icarus in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 174,000.00 (€ 105,274.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Gleeson konnte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Primavera Emerging from the Rock, 1966 für AUD 12.300,00 (€ 7.339,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Gleeson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Dream Of Icarus im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 174.000,00 (€ 105.274,02).
