Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Decent Story; Two-penny Whist by James Gillray was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 701.25 (€ 836.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gillray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ‘Consequences Of A Successful French Invasion... Or... We Fly On The Wings Of The Wind To Save The Irish Catholics From Persecution’ in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).
Or... We Fly On The Wings Of The Wind To Save The Irish Catholics From Persecution’ im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.081,37).
