Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work 'Twenty Miles To Windward': The America'S Cup, 1887, Volunteer Versus Thistle by James Gale Tyler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 85,875.00 (€ 100,231.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James Gale Tyler have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2015 the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor was auctioned for USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).

Im Juni 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Twenty Miles To Windward': The America'S Cup, 1887, Volunteer Versus Thistle von James Gale Tyler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 85.875,00 (€ 100.231,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
