Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Overdue: An American Paddle Tug Towing In A Storm-Damaged Steamer by James Gale Tyler for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,809.08). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gale Tyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Overdue: An American Paddle Tug Towing In A Storm-Damaged Steamer von James Gale Tyler für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.809,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Gale Tyler erzielen.
