In February 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A ship off a rocky coast in a storm by James Gale Tyler. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,432.82), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gale Tyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.432,82) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Gale Tyler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 153.853,44).
