Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Ship In Rough Seas by James Gale Tyler was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,602.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gale Tyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Ship In Rough Seas von James Gale Tyler im März 2009 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.602,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Gale Tyler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 153.853,44).
