Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Gale Tyler could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work On the high seas changed hands for USD 2,640.00 (€ 1,925.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gale Tyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
