Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Evening Sails by James Gale Tyler was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2007. The price achieved of USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,037.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Gale Tyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Yacht Club Racing Boats In New York Harbor in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
