In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by James Bishop. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,465.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Bishop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work For Viola Farber in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 295,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von James Bishop zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.465,25) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Bishop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit For Viola Farber im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 295.500,00.
