This price was achieved in the auction Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by James Barry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seated male nude in September 2016 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 101,335.87).

Die Arbeit Milo of Croton von James Barry war einem Käufer im September 2016 GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.819,52) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Barry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seated male nude im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 101.335,87).
