Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 34,967.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Barry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seated male nude, which sold at auction in September 2016 for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 101,335.87).
