Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jamal Ahmed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May last year. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Figure 2) sold for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,399.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jamal Ahmed; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Bathing) sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,191.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jamal Ahmed erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Figure 2) für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.399,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jamal Ahmed; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Bathing) im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.191,23).
