Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Two figures) by Jamal Ahmed was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 288.00 (€ 336.57). Admittedly, works by Jamal Ahmed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Bathing) in March this year with an auction result of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,191.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Two figures) von Jamal Ahmed im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 288,00 (€ 336,57) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jamal Ahmed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Bathing) im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.191,23).
