In October 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, which included the work Suzanne Lenglen by Jacques Henri Lartigue. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,804.60), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacques Henri Lartigue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Automobile Delage, Grand Prix de l’Automobile-Club de France, Le Tréport, 26 juin 1912 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 54,536.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Suzanne Lenglen von Jacques Henri Lartigue zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.804,60) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Henri Lartigue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Automobile Delage, Grand Prix de l’Automobile-Club de France, Le Tréport, 26 juin 1912 im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 54.536,01).
