In November 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Evening Auction, which included the work The Angel Foretelling Saint Catherine Of Alexandria Of Her Martyrdom by Jacopo Robusti. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 191,000.00 (€ 225,361.22), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacopo Robusti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A An Elderly Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,609,250.00 (€ 2,044,570.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Angel Foretelling Saint Catherine Of Alexandria Of Her Martyrdom von Jacopo Robusti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 191.000,00 (€ 225.361,22) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacopo Robusti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A An Elderly Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.609.250,00 (€ 2.044.570,24).
