Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grapes, an apple and pears with a beetle in a pewter bowl on a ledge with rosebuds by Jacob van Es was sold in the Important Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,774.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob van Es - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Fish On A Terracotta Plate, Bunches Of Asparagus, Artichokes And Cherries In A Scalloped Dish, Together With Half A Cheese In A Basket, Bread Rolls, Fraises De Bois, Lemons, Oranges And Crabs All Arranged On A Table Top, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 91,250.00 (€ 104,723.03).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 41.774,13) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00.
