Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online, which included the work A plate with prawns and a roll, a bowl with olives, a façon de Venise, a glass of beer and almonds on a table by Jacob van Es. The price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 40,587.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob van Es - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Fish On A Terracotta Plate, Bunches Of Asparagus, Artichokes And Cherries In A Scalloped Dish, Together With Half A Cheese In A Basket, Bread Rolls, Fraises De Bois, Lemons, Oranges And Crabs All Arranged On A Table Top, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 91,250.00 (€ 104,723.03).

Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A plate with prawns and a roll, a bowl with olives, a façon de Venise, a glass of beer and almonds on a table von Jacob van Es zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 40.587,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden.
