Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A Still Life With Oysters, Chestnuts, All On Pewter Plates, Together With A Peeled Lemon, An Orange And Other Items On A Table by Jacob van Es. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,613.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Es have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With A Fish On A Terracotta Plate, Bunches Of Asparagus, Artichokes And Cherries In A Scalloped Dish, Together With Half A Cheese In A Basket, Bread Rolls, Fraises De Bois, Lemons, Oranges And Crabs All Arranged On A Table Top in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 104,723.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Still Life With Oysters, Chestnuts, All On Pewter Plates, Together With A Peeled Lemon, An Orange And Other Items On A Table von Jacob van Es zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.613,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Es auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With A Fish On A Terracotta Plate, Bunches Of Asparagus, Artichokes And Cherries In A Scalloped Dish, Together With Half A Cheese In A Basket, Bread Rolls, Fraises De Bois, Lemons, Oranges And Crabs All Arranged On A Table Top im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis
