Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Adam And Eve by Jacob de Backer was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,393.14), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob de Backer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Liberation of Saint Peter in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 399,000.00 (€ 355,266.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Adam And Eve von Jacob de Backer wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 55.393,14) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob de Backer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Liberation of Saint Peter im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 399.000,00 (€ 355.266,67).
