Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Mirror of Time by Jacob de Backer was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2017. The price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob de Backer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Liberation of Saint Peter in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 399,000.00 (€ 355,266.67).

Die Arbeit The Mirror of Time von Jacob de Backer kam im März 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.789,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob de Backer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Liberation of Saint Peter im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 399.000,00 (€ 355.266,67).
