Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Adoration Of The Shepherds by Jacob de Backer was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,439.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob de Backer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Liberation of Saint Peter in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 399,000.00 (€ 355,266.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Adoration Of The Shepherds von Jacob de Backer im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.439,43) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob de Backer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Liberation of Saint Peter im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 399.000,00 (€ 355.266,67).
